Title: Live Webcast: Hypertension Update: Get with the Guidelines

The talk will provide a historical perspective on what led to the updated hypertension guidelines with the focus of the discussion centered on the definition of hypertension and its relationship to aging and cardiovascular risk in the context of the new blood pressure guidelines and understanding how to incorporate these guidelines into clinical practice.
Learning Objectives:
• Define hypertension as outlined by the updated 2017 High Blood Pressure Guidelines. List the major organ systems affected by hypertension.
• Understand how to incorporate the atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk score in the determination of when to add antihypertensive medication.
• List the major lifestyle modifications that can help to control blood pressure.
